This class allows students the chance to explore and express their creativity in a variety of ways – building with Legos, sculpting with clay, writing stories, making slime, and more – all in a laid-back, (mostly) student-led environment. Teacher: Karen Kendrick, parent

Ahoy, mateys! Set sail on a hands-on history adventure as students join a pirate crew and discover what life was really like during the Golden Age of Piracy. Through fun weekly missions, kids will learn about pirate ships, navigation, treasure maps, secret codes, and the stories of real pirates like Blackbeard and Anne Bonny. Along the way they’ll build ships, design maps, decode messages, and keep their own pirate logbook. The adventure ends with an exciting treasure hunt where students must use everything they’ve learned to uncover hidden treasure!

Will be touring 10 different countries, learning the culture, music, crafts, making treats, short devotion. Passport books will also be given with this class.

Come explore the art of botanical printing using leaves, flowers, herbs, and other natural materials. Students will create beautiful prints on paper and fabric while learning techniques such as leaf printing, flower pounding, cyanotypes, eco-printing, and natural dyeing. Each week focuses on a creative project that blends art, nature study, and experimentation, allowing students to build a unique portfolio of botanical artwork to take home and display.

Get your sneakers ready and your brain gears turning! This course will help build fitness habits and physical literacy through fun, structured movement, team games, and essential health concepts.They will explore different elements of physical fitness, including strength, endurance, and flexibility as well as how nutrition plays an important role in how our brains and bodies function. We will also discuss basics on hygiene practices, safety/first aid, and healthy stress management.

Ich spreche Deutsch (I speak German). Learn to speak and read German words and phrases in an engaging and fun way while simultaneously learning a little bit about the country and the German culture.

Students will learn basic rhythm concepts through bucket drumming: keeping a steady beat; understanding tempo (fast vs. slow); playing quarter notes, eighth notes, and simple rests; and counting rhythms aloud (e.g., “1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &”).

Learn beginner sewing techniques with Miss Mimi! This is for students with an interest in sewing but do not have any previous experience.

Hilarious relays and team challenges abound in this fun filled PE class that gets kids moving through. Silly relays team competitions, and laugh out loud challenges. Students will work on teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence while staying active and having a great time.

This hands-on class introduces the foundations of citizenship, leadership, laws, and the United States government through interactive simulations, debates, games, and creative projects. Instead of simply reading about government, students will experience it firsthand by participating in mock elections, courtroom trials, constitutional conventions, leadership challenges, and collaborative problem-solving activities.

Learn to sew with Miss Mimi! This is an intermediate sewing course for students who know how to use a sewing machine. Students in this class will learn to use a serger – sew and finish seams accurately and quickly! These skills will elevate the students sewing skills allowing them to complete projects like a pro!

The pre-requisite for this class is Miss Mimi’s Beginner Sewing class or relevant experience.
